When is the earliest date I can start purchasing them?

Today I met a guy who is visiting from Germany and he told me he got to see the France versus Switzerland game but he had no choice in it. Cos he bought the ticket 2 years in advance through a draw and at the time he had no idea which teams he would get to watch. Because the groups were not established. Is this true that there is a limit of tickets available for purchase for people from each country? Do I need to enter a ticket poole?

I guess it depends of the group, I dont think its a limit for each country, b/c in some games, I saw way to more ppl of some teams, I mean when Mexico was against portugal, I was thinkin there was going to be, more ppl from Portugal b/c its closer to germany, but there were more mexican ppl...

It depends on what country you are in as well. There was a big stink in the UK th9is time about world cup tickets. You could only buy them from a certain officially designated website, or agent ... except some people bought tickets beforehand and they went to court or something, and they got special dispensation becasue they'd bought their tickets on a website BEFORE the official one had been set up ... but anyone buying after that would not have their tickets honoured.

Or am I getting mixed up with the stink over the tickets for the Liverpool/West Ham FA cup final in England?
