I realise this community is kind of dead, but OH WEL. (I hope this is ok, there wasn't anything in the community rules about posting vids...)

WATCH IN HIGH QUALITY.
Just some clips I put together of the 2002/2006 World Cup as well as other random games. There's also a good amount of Beckham clips because... he's pretty.
Anyways I figured I'd share. If you have a YouTube account it would be cool if you commented and rated over there. :)

feel free to delete this....

I dunno if this is the right community, but I saw this final game of the Gold Cup, and let me tell you both teams sucked !!
First of all Im mexican I love my team but they really played bad all the cup, I mean we have such a good players like Nery Castillo, Salcido, Osorio, Guardado, Pavel Pardo, Jared Borgetti, Bofo Bautista etc.. I dunno what was the problem, well probably the positions Hugo Sanchez told them to play, I dont like Hugo Sanchez at all, he made a mess with our team, I wish we could change him....
and for the US, well, I saw all of his games, and its a shame that they didnt have the fairplay, i mean against Canada was probably one of the worst games, talking about being "fair", that I've ever seen, I guess its because they played on their country, like in this game the penalty that was so unfair !! it wasnt a penalty, the 2nd goal was amazing, i kinda remembered Maxi Rodriguez's goal in the world cup......
And of course we blame Adolfo Bautista cuz he had that amazing chance to make a goal and he failed it lol, I really like him but everytime I see that.... I get mad lol... he was alone !!
I mean I dont think we deserved to win, because we could do so much better, I mean no offense to anyone but we lost against Hounduras !!, I believe we were the best team in the cup...
But I hate the fact US won, i mean they played so unfair, the referee was always on their side, and It really bothers me, I mean Im still mad, against Canada it was so unfair, and it sucks to me because the referee was from Mexico ¬¬ I Think US got and advantage because the cup was on their country...
Anyway that's my opinion...

let see how it goes against Brazil .. and the US against Argentina... well we know who will win.... lol

Ok, this is a really random question and you can delete this post if it's not supposed to be in this community, but...I wanted to ask why Totti was sucking his thumb after the match against Australia in last years world cup.
Does anyone remember? Here's a pic just to jog your memory:

I haven't been able to figure it out and it's been something that has perplexed me for quite some time now. Would someone like to fill me in?
Thanks

Is Idealism Dying With Bilbao?

Athletic Bilbao are one of the most remarkable teams in European football. Since 1912, the club has survived and at times flourished, with the strict guiding philosophy that only players born or raised in the local region may pull on the club's famous red and white shirts. In 2006, it is this principle that may well bring about the demise of this proud Basque club.

Sep. 5th, 2006 @ 07:01 am Materazzi breaks Zidane silence
Marco Materazzi has finally explained what he said to Zinedine Zidane before he was headbutted by the Frenchman during Italy's World Cup final victory.
Zidane was sent off for the attack and later claimed he was provoked after Materazzi had insulted his mother.

But Materazzi told Gazzetta dello Sport that Zidane's sister was the subject.

He said: "I was tugging his shirt, he said to me 'if you want my shirt so much I'll give it to you afterwards,' I answered that I'd prefer his sister."

Materazzi added: "It's not a particularly nice thing to say, I recognise that. But loads of players say worse things.

"I didn't even know he had a sister before all this happened."

Materazzi was later handed a two-match ban from world governing body Fifa, while Zidane was banned for three games and fined £3,260.

Zidane, who has since retired from football, has never specified what Materazzi said to him and has refused to apologise to his opponent.

Asked on 12 July exactly Materazzi had said, Zidane would only offer that it was "very personal" and concerned his mother and his sister.

"You hear those things once and you try to walk away," added Zidane. "That's what I wanted to do because I am retiring. You hear it a second time and then a third time..."

Gee, its been a hectic end of the month, right?

Its always interesting in the last days before the close of the transfer window...

The image “http://news.google.com/news?imgefp=oZgKIB1gOfgJ&imgurl=www.itn.co.uk/news/storyadb2c83ef985d0d77ac91e3cbaf90c7d.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.
First of all, TEVEZ and Mascherano moved to West Ham!!!!!!!!!!!
What can i say... There was even a chance that El Apache could move to ManYoo, but the Hammers put the better offer. Thank goodness!!

And finally... good news from Arsenal! The Gunners got rid of Master of Dive, J.A.Reyes - for now. He's going to Real (as he wished) on a swap-loan deal that saw Julio Baptista arrive in London. I cant say i like Baptista (he comes from Real!) but he scores goals, and Henry is ageing, so... Good news.

The Gunners are being unusually active on the market - and all of their deals look reasonable, and most importantly, PROFITABLE. The top of the icecream, Ashley Cole's exodus after the transfer deadline!!! Such a thing hadnt happened before, but you see everything's possible when Chelski is involved (or rather, Abramovich). Its okay, Ash looked very eager to leave anyway; and besides, its a profitable bargain, having brought Gallas in! Plus J5m! Well done, Wenger. What a swap!

And Roy Keane has made the headlines too. His debut at Sunderland was marked by half a dozen spectacular deals (i only wonder where does he dig that money from) - first, he vowed to revive Yorke's career by taking him back from nowhere (okay, Sydney), and then, he took the influential Celtic pair Varga+Wallace.

Cel'ic lost another key player to the Premiership, S.Petrov moving to the Midlands (what a surprising start of the season for Villa, btw!)  And the latest example of good business, Kluivert went to PSV on free transfer!

Its been everything but dull... Now lets wait for the goals to start flying!

...And the first Euro'08 qualifications are starting this evening! Áfram Ísland!!!

A cheap trick. Macca wants to show he's "willing to make drastic changes" and "build a new team". I suspect Becks-will-be-back as soon as the more crucial games come by. What does the phrase "the door remains open" bring to you? But anyway, i think he shoulda been dropped long time ago...

Go do some merchandise, squeaky David. I cant believe some are linking him to a possible pundit career (Lineker-style). Oh no, please! I'll have to watch Premiership with the sound turned off! :o

And where's his farewell match? They think we'll buy this?

Beckham left in the cold as England look forward

The image “http://images.scotsman.com/2006/08/12/beckham.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

AFTER ten years, three World Cups, one hanging in effigy and countless controversial moments, David Beckham's England career finally appears to be over. At the same time as he welcomed Terry Venables back into the fold as his assistant, the new England manager Steve McClaren cast Beckham out into the cold by omitting the former captain from his first squad.

Another amusing episode in Chelski's history in the era of Mr Exceptional.

Unknowns humble Chelsea's all-stars

jaime
MLS All Stars' captain Jaime Moreno holds the winning throphy
as he celebrates with his teammates after they beat Chelsea,
1-0, in a friendly soccer match game at Toyota Park, Bridgeview, Illinois.

CHELSEA has a team of international superstars and the high-priced roster to go along with them.

In soccer, though, fitness trumps fame.

Dwayne De Rosario scored in the 70th minute night and backup goalkeeper Joe Cannon made several late saves to preserve the MLS All-Stars' 1-0 victory over Chelsea, the two-time Premier League champion.

"Without legs, it's very difficult to play football. My players were without legs," Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho said. "For me this was a training session against other players. And no more than that." <- how pathetic

MLS sees blanking Chelsea as sign of league's progressChicago Tribune <- well thats only partially true

In fact, Moaninho is also partially right, because Chelski are still far from their season form, while the MLS season is already on. But thats no excuse for the multi-million "dream-team" of Abramovich. Football is not only about million-transfers, salaries and fame. Its played with the feet, but also with the brain and with the heart.

Aug. 2nd, 2006 @ 03:37 pm Broken World Cup trophy?
Hey look at this:

Days after winning the coveted trophy, Italian captain Fabio Cannavaro was pictured on the front page of an Italian newspaper staring at the World Cup trophy in dismay and holding up what looks like a piece from the trophy's base. Cannavaro admitted that he slept with the trophy the night Italy won the game against France and might have been affectionate with it. The winners of the World Cup can hold on to the trophy until the next tournament, although it remains the property of FIFA.

I am american and lets just say when italy won the world cup there wasnt much coverage on them. so little articles on a team that didnt win wasnt anywhere to be found.

you can email me at launchoffintowar@hotmail.com or comment here and we can set something up.
i would be happy to be pen pals or swap other things.

Hey there, I thought this would be fun to share.

So my friend and I are putting together a mix of songs that we tend to associate with our favorite football players in some way. So here's a list. We're still trying to think of some songs (narrow it down to one song for each player), so feel free to suggest! Thanks!

We also did a few non-Italian players as well (us being England fans too)

Ideas and thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks! :)
